Training > Trading stocks with CFDs
What is stock trading and why is it important for traders?
Stocks are one of the most popular financial instruments traded today. When you buy a stock in a company, you are buying property in that company. Stock trading requires you to consider both the company and the industry in which it operates.

As with any equity, quarterly earnings reports, the financial performance of the sector and the entire stock market are all key factors to consider when trading on an exchange. In doing so, you have the option of buying stocks on the exchange or trading derivatives of the underlying asset.
What are the trading hours for stocks?
The stock markets have established trading hours when you can trade stocks. Trading a particular stock on an exchange depends on which exchange it is listed on. For example, if you want to trade Barclays (BARC) on the London Stock Exchange, this is possible from 08:00 to 16:30 (GMT/UTC) from Monday to Friday. Moreover, the London Stock Exchange does not close for lunch, but most Asian stock markets close. Most stock exchanges are open Monday to Friday, but Middle Eastern exchanges are generally open Sunday to Thursday.

After hours, it is possible to place a trade order, but since market participants do not participate, a large amount of liquidity will be required to execute the order. Below is a table of the opening hours of the world's largest exchanges:
Exchange Working Hours Days Break
New York Stock Exchange, USA 9:30 - 16:00(ЕТ/EDT) MON - FRI No
NASDAQ, USA 9:30 - 16:00(ЕТ/EDT) MON - FRI No

Advantages of trading CFDs on stocks
Stock trading with CFDs has several advantages and is more versatile than traditional trading.

Leverage (Leverage) CFDs can be traded on margin. This means that the trader pays only a portion of the cost of the trade and essentially borrows the rest from the broker. This gives more availability, more exposure and multiplies the results.

Hedging. CFDs can be used effectively to hedge existing holdings. For example, you have a portfolio of stocks in a particular industry. You are happy with your investment, but expect a brief but sharp decline in that industry. You are concerned that this could affect the value of your portfolio. Using CFDs, you can sell your existing stocks briefly, hedging against this possibility. If your expectations aren't met, you get the opportunity to make up for the losses incurred with CFDs through capital gains accrued as your portfolio grows.

Short selling. By purchasing the stock itself, you only profit when the market is rising. However, with CFDs, you can make profits in both falling and rising markets, thanks to the short selling capability of CFDs.
Why is it worth trading stocks with CFDs with ProtectionKSB?
Trading on Margin: By providing margin trading (5: 1 for major stocks), ProtectionKSB gives you access to the stock market with CFDs.

Trading on Difference: When you trade CFDs on stocks, you are not buying the underlying asset itself. That means you are not tied to it. You speculate on the rise or fall of a stock's price.
